On the occasion of the publication of the Italian translation of the Leal Conselheiro (s. XV), by King D. Duarte of Portugal (1391-1438), and the Portuguese translation of the Rettorica (s. XIII) by Brunetto Latini (c.1220-c.1295 ), the respective translators, Roberto Mulinacci (University of Bologna) and Emanuel de França Brito (Universidade Federal Fluminense – Rio de Janeiro) will discuss the theoretical and operational problems raised by the translation and reception of medieval texts and culture in the contemporary world. Andrea Ragusa (University of Parma) and Valeria Tocco (University of Pisa) will take part in the discussion.
The initiative is organised with the collaboration of the Cátedra Antero de Quental (Camões, IP/Pisa) and the Centro Interuniversitario di Studi Italo-Iberici, and will take place in the Sala Riunioni of Palazzo Venera (Via Santa Maria 36), on 25 May from 2.30 p.m. onwards.
